Purchasing a school bus is important for several reasons: Children who have to travel a long way to school and often have to walk 2 hours to school do not come to school regularly or are sometimes completely overtired. We can make it easier for you to get to school and it is also much safer for you with the school bus. There is no public transport in Uganda as we know it in Germany. If someone falls ill at school or in the community, we can quickly drive those affected to the hospital. Many older people in the community in particular do not have access to medical care due to logistical restrictions, and we can counteract this. We can also act quickly in the event of medical incidents at school and drive the children to the doctor or hospital in an emergency.
School trips can also be organized on a small scale, which will greatly help to broaden the horizons of children who never leave the village. Large errands in the city for school such as posho and beans for lunch, firewood, school books and exercise books, building materials etc… can be carried out by school bus, saving a lot of time and transport costs.
